Bristol Palin SHOCKED That Lecturing Obama on Parenthood Was Poorly Received

Remember that time unwed, teen mother and reality television star Bristol Palin lectured the President of the United States on how to properly raise his daughters?

The former Alaska governor’s daughter used a new post to share screenshots of some the comments written on her site, including ones that say “kill yourself,” “may death be upon you,” and “You all, including your son, deserve a slow, painful and miserable death.”

However, the 21-year-old isn’t backing down and argued the death threats only serve to undermine her critics who are attacking her.

“Around Hollywood, there’s lots of concern and great initiatives to try to encourage more kindness in this world,” she wrote. “Then why do I get so many messages telling me I should die?”

Palin claims in the post she is victim of “bullying.”

Look, death threats are never acceptable. Nobody is contesting that. But I’d just like to put it out there that maybe we could all take the plight of this poor victim of online bullying a bit more seriously if her mother didn’t insist on all of that “RELOAD” rhetoric and cross-hairs nonsense so closely linked with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords being shot in the head last year.

Just a thought.

I must congratulate Bristol and her PR crew. The skank is just seeking attention and she is getting it. Is it any coincidence that her reality show launches in a few weeks? I think not. The Palins really know how to play the media game, I’ll give them that much. If only they were interested in doing good instead of fanning hatred and enriching themselves in the process.

True, but that’s like saying: “If everyone would just start behaving with compassionate rationality, a lot of problems would be fixed.” We can keep dreaming, but in the meantime one can’t really ignore these things. We have to point out in reasoned rebuttals what is problematic in their position. Or, in this case, call a skank a skank. It’s hard to justify much more effort beyond that.

I don’t recall any official report linking Sarah Palin’s Reload campaign with Giffords’ shooting. Obviously you don’t like Sarah Palin, or her family, but there is plenty of material to show about them, without exaggerating things. That kid certainly did not shoot Mrs. Giffords to appease Sarah Palin, and if you think he did, you really need to read the news a bit more thoroughly.

Wow. On the one hand I just laughed at her and went on with my day. On the other hand, she should’ve expected a lot of people to disagree. And honestly, the comments remind me of the harassment that gay men and lesbians face daily. She just seems like a dumb kid who doesn’t even know what she’s talking about. I find it interesting when people who say that bullying isn’t a problem (mostly because they are bullies themselves), but when they get bad rep or attacked because of their bullying, then they are the first to cry “bully!”
I agree that threatening someone in anyway, especially telling them to die, is just wrong in so many ways. All forms of bullying need to stop now.

This article and many of its replies are appalling. Listen, the f*cks I could give about Bristol’s political opinions couldn’t be any fewer than they are now. However, flippant attitudes towards online bullying (you know, death threats and the like) as such I’ve read are precisely why we’ll never make progress in the plight to curb bullying and harassment unless we acknowledge that it’s wrong on all grounds. I believe self-promotion is playing a role in her posting of screen-grabs. But being so myopic on that speculation misses the point altogether. People bullied and threatened her, and we’re standing back going “well, she asked for it.” No, she did not. Regardless of her intention, harassment still happened, and not just against her, but her son as well. And Kevin, you ought to be ashamed to have written that death threats are to only be taken seriously about certain people. She’s a former governor’s daughter. That’s all. Just who in the heck do you think we’re talking about? Good grief, get with the program, people!

I don’t particularly like the implication that she is a bad parent because she is an unwed, teenage mother. Some of the best mothers I know had their children quite young, and in response to the comments (here and elsewhere) I do not think that having sex before you are married makes you a shank. I am sure that many of the people that have insulted her creditability were sexually active as teenagers, and it is a rare person that can say that they did the most they could to protect themselves 100% of the time. It’s hard when you don’t have access to birth control because conservative parents and lawmakers are trying to keep you away from it. It’s easy for people to judge if they were either lucky enough not to get pregnant or couldn’t get pregnant (say because they were active with same-sex partners).

It’s not that I don’t think she’s a tool. She is a tool, and the advice she gave is obviously horrible. But both of your headlines about her suggest that her unwed status reflects on her ability as a parent, and as a bastard and as someone that does not plan on getting married, I resent that.

It’s the bible that calls for her death for having sex before marriage. Maybe people just feel her wanton whoring around before marriage is tearing down the foundations of society and traditional marriage and denying her child the right to be raised by a mother and a father. While the bible is pretty murky about the man on man thing, there is no way you can misinterpret the punishment for what she has done. As a good christian her and her family should totally understand where people are coming from. It’s not us, it’s God who wants you dead Bristol. It’s right there in black and white…….As an atheist it’s all pretty silly to me, but as a “good christian” I’m assuming she follows the same rules she expects others to follow. Bristol called it “death wishes” but somehow it turned into death “threats”. What is really funny is that if you look at the original “death wishes” they all come from an IP address beginning with the number 10. All IP addresses beginning with a 10 come from your own local network. Nice try “VICTIMS” Sarah, Nancy French (who pretends to be Bristol & writes her blog) and Bristol! LOL
