Church Kicked Out of Christian Softball League Because Pastor Plays for Both Teams
St. John United Church of Christ has been blocked from playing in a Missouri Christian softball league because a pastor at the church identifies as bisexual.
Rev. James Semmelroth Darnell doesn’t even play on the church softball team, but his honesty about playing for both teams is being given as three other teams’ excuse for refusing to face off against St. John United.
Robin Juerges is just one of the John’s Softball team members upset by the declaration.
“I was hurt by it,” said Juerges.
Rich Guinn is the team coach and says St. John has been a part of the St. Clair Church Softball League for more than 12 years. Guinn made the decision for his team to bow-out of the league since three of the league’s six teams were refusing to play with the church.
There is no end to the lengths Christians will go to embarrass themselves and the faith they espouse. None.
Who would Jesus refuse to play softball with?
