Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Back On the ‘Waiting Until Everyone Can Marry’ Bus

It’s been a few months since Brad and Angelina last tied their eventual nuptials to the fight for LGBT equality, so let’s go ahead and check and see what they’re waiting for, shall we?

Their long-awaited engagement was “something that made sense,” he told reporters Tuesday on the French Riviera as he helped promote his new gangster film, Killing Them Softly.

In response to rumors that the couple, who have been together since 2005, are tying the knot in August, Pitt, 48, added, “We have no date at all right now – there is no date. We’re still hoping for marriage equality in the States before we [get married.]

Funny! My fiance and I are also still hoping for marriage equality in the States before we get married. But only because, you know, we can’t before then.

well ill be honest much as i would like to think differently. ive come to realize things in America hit a constant cycle. it goes african american rights, then women’s rights, then gay rights. were still having trouble with the glass ceiling (as women) and then education is down, low education has been linked to homophobia because as my mother always taught me you only fear what you do not understand. so because i want equality soon i would want to say within the next 30 years, but 50 would be more probable. so i think the brangela wedding would come first and yes i completely stole that from you lol

I think its really sweet that they want to wait. It’s not going to speed up the process, but it’s still sweet. As a parent though, I know how it is when your kids want something, and I only have two, lol. Hopefully they explained to the kids that really, its just aparty and a piece of paper (yes I’m aware there’s other advantages) and you really don’t.need that stuff to be in love and happy. Maybe they could compromise and have a ceremony without the paperwork. Anyway call me an optimist but I’m still hoping for marriage equality first.
