Miss USA Pageant’s Call Me Maybe Proves that Cover Videos Should Be Left to the Gays
As someone who built a series of businesses largely on the questionable foundation of playing the gay Snoop Dogg in a Katy Perry cover video, I think I’m qualified to say this:
Ladies. Ladies, ladies, laaaaadies. No.
We love you, but no. You’re doing it wrong. The goal of a viral cover video is to fling as many shirtless gay boys as possible at a song where no gay already exists. Not to replace the entire gay plot and cast of a popular gay, gay, gaaaaay music video with fifty straight girls and Donald Trump.
This simply will not do. Never again, please.
Also, Andy Cohen, you’re on thin ice. Watch it with the hopping, sister.
Miss Indiana looks fun though. Just saying.
