This is What 2700 Homos Biking From San Francisco to Los Angeles Looks Like
Every year around this time a few thousand gays, girls, ladygays, lesbians, boys, queers, beers, bears, ladybears, broads, fellas, floozies, flimsies, film buffs, buff bods and straight allies who have had their lives touched in some way by HIV/AIDS hop on their bicycles and ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles in order to raise money for the fight against the disease which has taken so many loved ones from us.
Last year UB’s very own Nicky V joined the cyclists for the week and covered all of the action. He was all pumped to return this year, but at the last minute he was forced to back out because of a film job in Mexico. Poor baby, I know.
In any case, here are some of our very favorite shots from ALC’s famous annual Red Dress Day and some of our IRL pal Nathan Manske’s I’m From Driftwood video diaries featuring ALCyclers explaining why they ride.
So cool! If you want to get in on the fun and philanthropy next year, be sure to use the code UNICORN to score $40 off the registration fee for next year’s ALC. You can register HERE.
We’ll see you there next year!
