Bigot Dad Yada Yada Yadas Reason for His Arrest at Child’s Elementary School (Video)

Did you know that marriage equality for same-sex couples means straight fathers will be handcuffed and arrested?

Watch in absolute glee as David and Tonia Parker weave a delicious little yarn about that time that their son’s Massachusetts elementary school teacher read him a book that got father David arrested.

That’s it. Book, and then arrest, with scant details in between. David literally bridges the book to handcuffs portions of his tale with, “to make a long story short,” conveniently skipping the fact that he was arrested for trespassing at an elementary school and refusing to leave the grounds. Watch it all go down around the 2:40 mark.

Parker drops “to make a long story short” again in the video when it’s time to glaze over his humiliating defeat in court.

To make a long story short, this guy is a tool.

Obviously I do not agree with the parents on their beliefs but it is their child, I am sure he did more than just talk if he was sent to jail. However they do have a right to monitor what their children learn. Therefore, they can home school,send them to a christian school or sit down with the teacher and explain their beliefs and ask for some kind of notification. I dunno, its terrible propaganda and unfortunately its very well done propaganda.

In particular I was touched by the story of the two girls, where one said she loved her friend and therefore must be gay. Well 1, Good on her I guess, because this kind of openmindedness would let her explore her sexuality – albeit at an early age and therefore a pretty basic level. It’s not like it will change the outcome later on in life. 2) It’s a good introduction to different types of love and what they mean (friendship, romantic, familial).

I don’t think people realize how early and deeply we impress upon our youth the idea of getting married and having a family. What the school is doing here is no different than any other fairytale we tell children. I agree with the school in that it is their responsibility to teach children to be open minded and educated.

I also found the father’s crying to be … highly suspect. You don’t just go to jail for talking either, so he obviously felt the need to make a scene. And as many people above pointed out if they want religion to be a factor in their children’s education then send them to a religious private school.

Yes, it’s so horrible to teach non-judgmental kids that all forms of love are valid and wonderful. It’s so much better to teach them to hate and discriminate just like their highly religious parents do.

You don’t like the curriculum that the teacher or school has laid out for the class your child attends (which can be requested if not already given at any point in the year)? Send the child somewhere else, though I feel so sorry that you are teaching your children that what is a very real and wonderful thing is so wrong! I hope they grow up to see how hateful and ignorant you are. Heaven forbid that they experience same-sex love or have any gender identity issues, right?! Will you abandon them then or just look down your upturned nose at them? These people make me more sick to my stomach than my baby did in the first trimester and THAT’S saying something! Teaching tolerance and helping children to understand the world around them is NEVER a bad thing. They start teaching us about the harm that drugs, strangers and alcohol can pose to us when we are very young so why not touch on diversity at the same age or younger? Keep teaching hate because what goes around, comes around!

I admit that maybe the school did handle it wrong and maybe they just were not ready to handle it such a way that it would be excepted….but I do believe since there is no prayer in the schools now that any christian believes are not valid any longer in the school…maybe the school should have put before a school board meeting for parents to attend

This man, and his wife, should be completely discredited as parents. This video shows about one quarter of the entire incident, and makes it seem as if he was arrested for objecting to what was being taught. He was arrested for for refusing to obey an officer, and was duly arrested. Parents who would rather have their kids grow up with hate in their hearts, instead of love, are not worthy of their children.

I really feel sorry for those parents, it must be very frustrating, when in your heart and soul you believe something to be wrong and feel like the government is not backing up your rights. Oh wait, that is how we (gay men & women) all lived the majority of our lives. It is so sad the damage religion does, religion endorsed oppressing the rights of women to vote, in endorsed slavery and segregation, and teaches people to hate anyone that does not believe the same as they do. What entitles them to think they are so special that the beliefs or values of others have no merit?

Read the bible, all of it, and pay attention to what IT teaches, Not what your religion teaches. It’s a great book and it teaches you to love and accept others, it is not about hate. Man has created that!

To teach inclusivity is the cure to HATE of anything.
Monitor what your children learn, so they don’t learn hate…….. Hate is not a natural concept. Children see differences, but children do not see that the differences are wrong until- an adult tells them so.
No school christian, muslim, or whatever should be allowed to preach hate, I don’t care if it violates your religion- to include everyone. These stupid people whine about a fine line, but look at all the suicides, misery, excluding, and condemning people brings.
Hate has no place in school or anywhere.

notice around the 2:10 mark, the dad said “Indoctrination.” Wtf, it’s a public school, it’s not like their POWs being held against their will, the parents of the local community pay for education for their *precious* children, if they’re so offended by what schools are teaching in today’s society, then they should just home-school them. what better way to control what your kids learn and grow and think critically than just doing it yourself?
