Craigslist Crazies: Mother Buys Son New Macbook to Prevent His Gayness

This seems fake to me. I’m not buying it.

Screw mother of the year. This might be the smartest kid alive. I’d lie to my parents (if they were honestly this stupid) all day long if I thought I might get a $2300 Retina MacBook Pro out of it. 

And then quickly get on A4A and find the nearest hard dick I could find.

I tend to agree with someone remarking about the veracity of the ad.  Even if the ad really ran on Craigslist, you could write anything to explain selling a nearly new computer.  She might have made more money with it if she explained that all the porn he downloaded would remain intact, to save the buyer the trouble of downloading his or her own.

Now for myself, I didn’t buy my son his Mac to cure him of his homosexuality.  I was just tired of sitting down to use a computer we’d shared, and getting AIM messages from his online buddies  with all sorts of lewd propositions.  I didn’t mind the propositions, but I was never quite sure of when to interrupt their flow, and mention that I was his mother.  It caused a few awkward moments, in the case when I actually knew the person making the comments.

I developed a standard reply “thanks, that’s really the most flattering offer I’ve had in a long time, but it would be difficult to accomplish, since I don’t actually have one of those body parts you want to (insert name of activity).  By the way, I just wanted to let you know that I’m not Jeff, but his mother.  But I’ll pass on your message.”

I had no idea how to turn off the AIM messenger, and he didn’t ever bother, so sometimes I was fending off messages all night.  It was a relief when we each had our own–although I certainly don’t mind pictures of naked men, given his age, his taste veered uncomfortably to the dark side of jail bait, and I didn’t want whatever governmental agency concerns itself with this raiding our computer. 

Shit, Ill be “Straight” If you buy me nice things. 

Why are we assuming that it is his mother, and not his father? I don’t see any evidence either way. Dads can be intolerant too.

Why would you even mention that? Fair play to the son, though. I tip my hat to you, sir, for playing your gullible and bigoted mother!
