Get Your Kicks on Route 66′s Gay Pride Art Installation

The famed Route 66 is a good deal gayer this week thanks to a group of pals who decided to organize a gay pride art installation on the road just outside of Amarillo, Texas.

A bunch of my friends and their friends all got up before dawn and headed out to the Cadillac Ranch out west of Amarillo on historic Route 66 to paint it up in celebration of Pride Week! It was still dark when we got there (we wanted to be done before the haters had a chance to get organized), the ground was muddy, and the wind blew the spraypaint back into our faces, but we had a blast!
