Gay Couple Forced to Move Abroad by DOMA Star on Tonight’s House Hunters International

House Hunters International, the HGTV television program possessing 100% of the highly addictive qualities of crack, is taking a page straight out of the 90′s TV playbook by airing a very special episode tonight at 10:30 PM e/p.

Ivan and Devin, built a life together in DC: they worked jobs they loved, shared their home with their beloved dog and exchanged wedding vows. But when Ivan’s work visa expired, he had no other choice but to head back to his native Bogota, Colombia with his American husband, Devin, and their dog, Danger.

Ivan’s mother is delighted her son is back home and has extended her indefinite hospitality, but the couple agrees it’s time to find their own digs. With few dog-friendly buildings, and an extensive wish-list, real estate agent, Sam Miller has his work cut out for him. But will he deliver the goods? Find out, when House Hunters International sets its sights on Bogota, Colombia.

HGTV shies away from mentioning those four little letters, D-O-M-A, in their episode guide, but expect to see the very real implications of the Defense of Marriage Act of legally married, American, same-sex couples tonight.

Come to think of it, it’s almost surprising that it took this long to find a couple in this predicament. There have literally been 42 seasons of this show to date. Like, literally literally. Wow.
