Ladies, ladies, ladies. Got a bun in the oven? Have you made an appointment with your local OBGOPYN yet? Because the Republican Party has all sorts of fantasyland unscientific garbage for your ladyparts.

Like say, Missouri Rep. Todd Akin’s baseless, dangerous and incorrect assertion this weekend that women can’t get pregnant from “legitimate rape.”

First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

Just so we’re all clear here, the people of Missouri already elected this man into one powerful political office. Now that this Senate hopeful has shown us all what a moronic hack he is, howzabout the good folks of the Show-Me State do a little course correcting and boot this man out of office?

And just by the by, over 31,000 women were impregnated by their rapist last year in the United States alone. While the GOP scrunches up their faces and scratches their heads weighing the legitimacy of those horrific incidents of violent sexual assault, let us offer our condolences to the women forced to undergo both the initial trauma, and now the aftershock of this jackhole weighing in on their bodies, babies, and rapes.
