Tennis Stud Andy Roddick Retires

At the ripe old age of 30, Andy Roddick is retiring from tennis. The tennis star stated that the US Open, currently in progress, will be his final tournament. Roddick’s reps could not be reached for comment when asked if he would accept his invitation to participate in my US Open Mouth Kiss (the offer is still on the table, forever…and IIIIIIIII will always love you).

Today marked Roddick’s last official tennis match, as he lost in the 4th round to Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina. He previously won the US Open back in 2003.

I would actually chew and swallow a strand of barbed wire if I could retire at the age of 30. I mean… I guess he’s not actually retiring. Mr. Roddick will continue to be involved in The Andy Roddick Foundation and will be a larger presence in the life of his bulldog, Billie Jean. See his emotional farewell here:

First Michael Phelps, now Andy Roddick? If we lose David Beckham next to this horrible “retirement” disease I’ll run away I swear to GOD, MOM.

Are you sad to see our favorite Lacoste wear-er leave the world of tennis? Have you ever sat through a full tennis match? …Hello?
