Aloha from the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival!
Aloha, you gorgeous gals and guys. With our street food restaurant, Booty’s, about a month away from opening in New Orleans, we leapt at the opportunity to fly to Oahu for the 2012 Hawaii Food & Wine Festival!
We’re blissed out at the Aqua Lotus Hotel at Diamond Head right now doing our bloggy thang, sipping Kona coffee and enjoying the breathtaking views from our room way up in the Honolulu sky.
And we’ve already been eating like kings! Immediately after landing, we took a little road trip across the island to He‘eia Pier General Store & Deli for their legendary Misoyaki Beef and the best fish sandwich of our lives.
The view from the tiny restaurant at the edge of the pier brought back memories of Pike Place Market in Seattle – except, the water was crystal clear and the coast was lined with palm trees.
Last night’s supper went down at MarukameUDON, a cafeteria-style noodle house with a la carte tempura. I’d call it a secret, but something about the 50+ smiling diners lined up outside tells me the secret is out!
You can follow all of our Hawaii Food & Wine Fest adventures on instagram at @ikevinfarrell, @worldli, and @bootys. And check out all of the other delicious dishes being served up here on Oahu vicariously through Twitter and instagram at @OahuVB, #VisitOahu, @HIFoodWineFest and @HFWF12.
Many, many thanks to our favorite Hawaiian lovely ladies, Sandi Yara and Rebecca Pang (We’ll always have the Road to Hana!), and to Lindsay Chambers for helping to make all the magic happen for us. Smooch!
Wish you were here! Aloha!
