REALLY, REALLY GOOD MUSIC: Solange, Losing You
I’ve always had a soft spot in my hear for Beyonce’s baby sister Solange. After a laughable start with Solo Star almost a decade ago, Solange seemed to find her footing a few years ago with songs like I Decided and Sandcastle Disco – a jam that you’ve probably heard at a million parties without realizing who was singing it.
And then…nothing.
So what a surprise it was to wake up today and watch this video for Losing You. And real talk, I could yammer on and on about the obscure Solange trivia that I have somehow grown to posses…or you could just play the damn video and enjoy it for yourself.
This reminds me of Body Language (So good!) and older jams from people like Groove Theory, Angie Stone, Res (!!!), Jill Scott and all the other folks that gay boys from Philadelphia grow up listening to alongside their Britney and Christina.
I’m in heaven.
