“Oh what a funny video spoofing Chick-fil-A’s corporate homophobia,” you think as you begin watching.

But then when the cashier actually accepts the coupon, and you realize that Chick-fil-A staff is actually open to this sort of anti-gay nonsense, if not explicitly trained to accept DIY gay-for-chicken barter, all bets are off. Yes, Chick-fil-A is exactly as ridiculous as you first thought.

I hate to say it but they make a hell of a sandwich. Of course I’m not giving them any money, but if they’re willing to give me a free sandwich, I’m all for that.

same here. I get their free sandwiches often. I figure that if anything, I’m costing them the food and time to make a sandwich but not paying, so I’m kind of taking away from them. And I get really tasty food in return xD

So, just so we’re clear. This is for real?

I suppose one might enjoy a chicken sandwich (which I don’t anyway), and then retire to the parking lot to frolic around the perimeter of the store with dozens of other chicken sandwich loving aspiring former homosexuals, all clutching onto one end of a giant rainbow flag singing “We’re Not Gonna’ Take It,” or some equally inspiring tune.

That might satisfy both the conscience and the appetite. I think that the song might be released by its owner for this purpose, even if Paul Ryan* was smacked sharply on the snout for appropriating it for his own use.

*or some equally loathsome creature, I don’t feel like looking it up.

Sometimes I really have to wonder if there’s a sinister Rainbow group of double agents infiltrating the Teabaggers and the Religious Right, offering low prices and impeccable bigotry credentials. And then going all out to make them crash and burn in their own bile. Because it’s hard to believe that their candidates and their causes of the past couple of years have been with an eye towards looking sane.

Do they make a heart-attack-on-a-bun so delicious as to be irreplaceable? I’ve heard it postulated that they can make as many homophobic comments as they want because at the end of the day they still make a hell of a good sandwich. Hearing that makes me feel all tired and breathless, like I can’t even begin to explain what a Boycott is and why it’s a good idea, and that if your ideals are weaker than your cravings for deep fried fowl, than… whatever, I can’t even work up the energy to form a coherent argument, so I’ll put it in internet format. FREE CHICKEN SAMMICH OMG! < Dignity.
