Georgia Squashes Gay Man’s Dream of Fabulous Vanity Plates
In an event that can only be described as “Well, why not?” a Georgia man is suing the Georgia Department of Driver Services for denying his request for fabulously fabulous vanity plates.
Apparently all three of James Cyrus Gilbert’s plates were on Georgia’s banned list, which probably looks more like a list of usernames from Grindr than it does a list of license plates. In other news, this license plate strategy is what we did before Grindr…I get it now.
What would Gilbert’s plates have said?
The worst part, probably the most important part, is that Georgia has previously approved requests for religious and political expression in a vanity plate but is denying Gilbert’s.
P.S. Ironic source is ironic.
