Lambda Literary Foundation Releases 2013 Finalists For Top LBGT Lit
A couple weeks ago, we celebrated Jane Bowles as a pioneer for LBGT lit. Today, the Lambda Literary Foundation posted their nominations for the best LBGT work of our next generation of writers.
S. Chris Shirley, LLF Board Member and 2013 Lammy Co-Chair, says:
“For four consecutive years we have broken the records for both book nominees and publishers, which is extremely heartening in a time of uncertainty for the publishing industry as a whole, and LGBT publishing, in particular.”
So while the medium of the book may be at risk, at least LGBT representation in that shirking marketplace is growing. Take a look at the list, where you can find everything from Transgender Nonfiction to Lesbian Mystery to LBGT Horror.
Do we need to remind ourselves what John Waters tells us about books and our sex lives?
