When the Conversation After Last Night’s Hookup Was Mediocre-at-Best, There’s Kaliido
If your OK Cupid, Manhunt, HowAboutWe, Grindr and Jack’d profiles weren’t enough — because let’s be real, when a girl wants to
hook up go out on a date, she wants to go out on a date — the new website Kaliido is here for you and your…. needs.
From Down Under, which is where the site was developed and also just happens to be perfect innuendo, comes a dating service aimed at more easily connecting gay men through their interests and hobbies.
Says their press release:
Kaliido takes a direct stab at apps like Grindr and Jack’d (just see the infographic below), but only time will tell how receptive gay men will be to the new service. There are quite a few apps and sites out there already, but Kaliido claims to bring something new to the table. And while I’m sure I’m reading too much into the idea that gay men were only dating for sex before Kaliido (rude!), I’m a fan of getting people, not just gay men, to connect in new ways. So, why not?
Like all stylish sites these days, Kaliido is in invite-only mode right now, but you can request a login at Kaliido.com. However, unlike other sites that started as invite-only (New Myspace?), I’m kind of hoping Kaliido does well. Something about true love and soul mates and yadda yadda yadda.
Also, who else is on the New Myspace? Or did Justin Timberlake figure out that being Tom was never that easy after all and shut the thing down?
