A Conceptual Nudie Mag? A Conceptual Nudie Mag!
This is not the sort of nudie mag that is meant to be hidden under the mattress or carried in secret to the bathroom. This is the sort of nudie mag that is meant for the coffee table or the living room bookshelf!
Momma Tried is a print-only publication that is equal parts literary journal, art magazine, and non-heteronormative nudie mag. In a recent blog post at NOLAFemmes, Theo (co-founder) says that she and her partner “believe that sex and art are intrinsic to the human experience”—and as such, should not be separated.
In other words, art is sexy. In Justin Timberlake’s words, Momma Tried is “bringing sexy back” to literature and fine art.
According to their Kickstarter—where you can pre-order the magazine and see a preview shot from one of the photo editorials—Momma Tried will be “full of engaging art and writing, subversive humor, and inclusive portrayals of bodies and sexuality.”

While you wait for the magazine to be delivered to your mailbox (They are only printing 1000 copies! Make sure you get one now!), lose yourself for a while on Momma Tried’s provocative tumblr page (which is totally NSFW).
