Backstreet Boys to Supreme Court: Quit Playing Games with My Heart
The Supreme Court kicked around the affirmative action ball a bit today, but recessed for the day without issuing high profile decisions on the fates of the Defense of Marriage Act or California’s Proposition 8.
It isn’t exactly unheard of for the most eagerly anticipated decions from the Supremes to come last. Scotusblog even warned beforehand, “We unfortunately don’t know what decisions we will get today. That said, it’s unlikely that we will get Prop 8 or DOMA. It’s likely those will both come down on the last day of the Term (because they were argued late and are so controversial).”
But we can’t help but be a little bit nervous that we might be looking at anti-climactic non-decisions either kicked back down to lower courts or delayed altogether until after summer recess.
Cue the Backstreet Boys:
So wise. So wet. So choker-necklacey.
Fingers crossed for Thursday.
