Lena Dunham and Cast of ‘Girls’ Parody ‘The Golden Girls’ for Jimmy Kimmel

“I’ve got Ensure and ecstasy! Who wants to party till we crap ourselves, huh?”

Two of our favorite things in the world just became one when the cast of Girls parodied The Golden Girls on Jimmy Kimmel, Live!

Lena Dunham reunited with her Girls’ cast mates Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams and Andrew Rannells for the spoof. In the style of Golden Girls, Dunham shows what happens to the characters of the hit-HBO show when we fast forward their lives 50 years into the future.

Not much has changed honestly. Hannah is still getting naked, Jessa is still addicted to drugs and Marnie is still annoying as fuck. As the women have aged, Elijah played by Andrew Rannells has not aged at all.

“I told you bitches! It’s Oil of Olay and boxed wine. Did any of you even try it?”

The final season of Girls is currently underway with only two episodes left. Girls has left an undeniable mark on television, honestly portraying life of 20-something women of Generation Y trying to survive in New York City.

“I think this show introduced the television audience to a new kind of heroine who doesn’t look like the way that people aspired to look,” said Williams at the premiere party. “It’s been such a privilege to be a part of something that people had opinions about. Even if they were bad, they were from people consuming media that was made by women.”

This season has especially featured Andrew Rannells who had an episode focused on his character Elijah. The episode followed Elijah breaking into Broadway, something Rannells knows all too well from being in the original cast of Book of Mormon.

“It started as one episode in the first season and that wasn’t supposed to go much beyond that at all,” he told Seth Meyers this week. “The fact that Lena and our show runner Jenni Konner they kept having me back and kept giving me things to do. In this final season, I got to exploit my musical theater background a little bit.”

“I am so proud that I got to be a part of it. I am so proud of what Lena created. It’s a strange moment of actual sincerity on my part.”
