Lady Gaga + Terry Richardson For Supreme: Sexy Or Stupid?

Posted on

Lady Gaga may be riding high with Born This Way tearing its way to number one across the globe, but we’re just not feeling her photo shoot for Supreme NYC. Sorry, dear. A t-shirt tucked into your vagina is rarely a good look.

But hey, maybe we’re the prudes here. What do you think of Lady Gaga’s Supreme photos?

  • Not digging the first one, but I think the other two are quite good.

  • not truly loving them….

  • Roeark

    eh, not so hot.

  • i hate her, she’s so unoriginal, and lacking talent.

  • Lisa Medeiros

i hate her, she’s so unoriginal, and lacking talent.

  • Tulla

It’s sad when people say they “hate” her. It’s a shame that people can so easily hate someone they don’t even know. Just because that person is different, or they don’t like the same things you do, or play the music you like. It’s no different than homophobes hating on the LGBTQ community, just because they don’t understand or agree with the way people were born.

Am I a Gaga fan? Yes. Do I like these pictures? They could be better. But that is the question here right? I don’t think they asked your opinions on her originality or talent.

  • This blog is disgustingly judging her freaking photo shoot when she took the time to write speeches, fight for repealing DADT, planned out her outfits to represent her belief in our equal rights, composed a whole freaking album dedicated to how we were born this way. I’d like to see the writer of this blog do a 16th of the work she does to stand up for our community before verbally bashing her ever again. Unicorn Booty = EPIC FAIL

  • Ha. I’d like to hear you compose melodies as catchy as her’s and sing anywhere near her range. Let me guess? You’re an aspiring singer who thinks she’s more talented than her. It’s obvious she’s talented. When you break a world record and become the number 1 selling single on iTunes in 3 hours, you can talk shit.

  • We fail to see the disgusting part in our sharing her work, in this case a photo shoot, with our followers. Many of whom, like ourselves, are big fans of Lady G. We’re allowed to not like her photos and still be fans.

Regarding your comment about the work we do for the LGBT community, Unicorn Booty donates 10% of all proceeds to LGBT non-profits. No, we’re not aspiring singers. This, connecting the gay community with news and businesses that support equality, is our passion and mission.

If it personally offends you that we don’t like a photo shoot, I suggest some deep breaths. I can’t imagine your Gagadess would be pleased with you throwing a temper tantrum in her name.

  • hey i dont mind seein it…whats the big deal? whatever happened to ‘if you got it flaunt it’ quit whining.

I like them. I like the third the best. Not my favorite pictures, but not bad either.

  • Brian K

Really? I disagree. Right now Lady Gaga is standing up and helping push the gay rights movement. Where’s Madonna? Oh yeah that’s right in England…where she lives…doing nothing for the gay movement. Gaga is proactive in helping put what needs put in the face of the people who can make it happen. Be glad someone important is standing up and speaking out when we can’t. At least not to be heard as loud.

Second’s OK, but… I really must agree that these are not very good. The first should never have made it into the public sphere. No one’s perfect.

  • Christopher B. Smith

    not truly loving them….

  • Not truly loving the whole theme, but I do agree with – “if you got it than flaunt it.”
Also, I would like to add that these photographs should would be the fault of the photographer, not her. They pick the best shots, what to dress you in, etc. It is quite likely that she had nothing to do with how these were structured.

One thing Lada Gaga has is “it.” She has a definite wow factor, and she can catch the public eye. Whether some people “hate” (which is truly immature and childish mockery, you don’t know her) or some people “love” (how do you love someone you don’t know? you admire them) her. Either way, Gaga is odds defying talented.

She has revolutionized this decade’s music. As someone of Euro-American descent, I can remember a time where her music would had been labeled electronica/Euro crap and never heard of again. She changed the music world, almost over night. She’s inspiration and unlike Miley Cyrus and those other “role models” – what truly awful things has she done? They can only criticize her dress. I thought we were to praise uniqueness? I realize this is an opinion thread, and I commend you for that, but where is her praise thread? Her contributions to the LGBT community should be.

  • I don’t think there’s anything wrong with these pictures. I wouldn’t save them as my iPhone background, but you’ve got to see where I am coming from. What if I said I didn’t like her music? I may or may not. Either way, I have huge amounts …of respect for her because she has done so much. 10% of proceeds is wonderful but she (along with Virgin Mobile) have donated thousands of dollars, has done speeches and movements for our community. I bet your 10% is nowhere near what she has donated. Not that I’m bashing what you’ve given because every little bit helps.

As for the gays that dislike having someone like her representing? Well she stepped up. Did you? I haven’t seen you address equality and be heard worldwide like she has. So shove a plug up your butt and become a better known activist than her and then you can talk shit.

You don’t have to understand anything that she’s promoting. Just be happy she chose to promote equality for our sake. No one questions your choices on your little blog; everyone just comments on them.

It’s ok to not like her music, sense of fashion, photoshoot, hair, videos, whatever. I just don’t think we should forget what she has done for our community. She’s been a big help and I know she’s made a difference. A difference that none of us have stepped up to make.

I just go by graphic design sensibility. The platinum hair and red lipstick with the white tee and red logo works very well. I would fault the skateboard pic for the magenta footwear straying from the red/white theme. Because it is Lady Gaga,it gets a ‘g’ rating. Almost any other attractive female and we’d be talking sexist exploitation, but Gaga has a way of projecting confidence and power in such a way this is not the case.

  • Personally, I think the second photo of her with the skateboard is very sexy– and I love the shoes!
