The tradition began in New York City 16 years ago by the improve group Improve Everywhere. Their website reads, “The No Pants Subway Ride is an annual event staged by Improv Everywhere every January in New York City. (The date changes from year to year and is announced in early December.) The mission started as a small prank with seven guys and has grown into an international celebration of silliness, with dozens of cities around the world participating each year.”
Now, the event has been replicated across the globe. From Berlin to San Francisco, citizens from all over the world are baring it all for the community filled commute.
Mike Pence’s hotter body double was even there in New York City, collecting money for charities who champion women’s health and LGBTQ rights.
