Preschooler Stabbed By Classmate For “Looking Gay”

Who decided boys can't wear pink?

6 year old Swedish kindergarten student Oskar’s classmates didn’t like him wearing pink clothing or the occasional nail polish to class. So one of them stabbed him in the neck.

The stabbing, which thankfully occurred with a butter knife, was not reported to the boy’s parents by Oskar’s teacher or principal. Mom and pop had to hear from their little boy why he had a bruise on his neck. The school did not think the incident warranted informing his parents. They called it a “small incident”.

“I don’t want to have my child at a school which considers a stab with a knife to be a ‘small incident’,” the boy’s mother told Jönköpings-Posten.

Um…no shit. A student stabbed their child in the neck with a knife. The fact that it was blunt doesn’t detract from the fact that he was stabbed in the neck.

Oskar, who had been previously tormented by classmates for “looking gay” or “being girly”, has been taken out of the school for his own safety.

Can you believe that the boy’s parents weren’t informed? What is this school thinking?!

The school should be shut down and then OWNED by the parents of the child who was attacked!! The child who did the attacking needs MAJOR therapy and needs to learn not to hate. (and we all know who they learn to hate from at that young age)

  • It is disgusting that the school did not report this incident to the parents! I work in a small school district, and even here, administrators are required to report any violent incidents to the parents of the involved children.
The school is responsible for the well being of the children, or have they forgotten their obligations under in loco parentis? Bruises resulting from a fall off the monkey bars are “small incidents;” bruises resulting from stabs? Yeah, NOT a small incident. Someone needs to throw the rule books at these “educators.”

What the hell! Since when is stabbing of any kind a “small incident.” I don’t care if it just bruised, the kid S-T-A-B-B-E-D him! Does the kid have to hit an artery for a major incident?

  • They’re finally starting to take bullying seriously in the U.S. Europe is usually ahead of us in so many things, I’m shocked they’re not in this one!

  • I bet if that child had been stabbed because of any other reason the parents MIGHT have been told. If that had been my son I would suing the teacher, the school and the parents of that little monster.

What is that school–and many of the students’ parents–teaching those kids?

  • I agree with who cares if the knife was blunt he was still STABBED IN THE NECK WITH A KNIFE!! No wonder children don’t seem to come away from school with the education they need to make it in college and in their careers….the teachers/administrators don’t have enough damn sense to recognize a dangerous and potentially life threatening situation and that will just continue until unfortunately we find ourselves wearing purple again over the loss of another LGBT teen pressured and tormented to the point of suicide.

  • are you kidding me????? you have to wonder what the classmates are being taught by it being told it’s a small incident really??? and what are they being told at home to think it’s ok to stab anyone for any reason it’s beyond belief. makes you wonder what the next generation will bring to the table of life

  • I don’t know what the laws are in Sweden, but I’d be hiring a lawyer and getting ready to be rich!

  • Chris Marshall

Are people forgetting that this sort of thing happens all the time in American schools and goes unreported? Seriously, how can anyone be surprised by this? Everyday 15-30 LGBT students are violently attacked in their schools and the schools do nothing about it.

  • Why should preschoolers even be thinking about stuff like that? They are practically babies. I don’t know too many 5 year olds that run around using the F-word and telling boys they were “acting gay.” I swear parents teach their kids to hate as soon as they pop out. This just baffles me.

  • Stemon Drick

The power of hate and it all starts at home. Should that kid be prosecuted? I am sure the adults in his life contribute a hell lot to his hatred. Maybe it’s time the law steps in and make parents more responsible for their kids actions.

  • That is child abuse!!! Even if a child breaks a nail, the teachers must tell the parents!

  • You know, I always thought the Swedish were progressives, but guess who was a closet backwater folks D:…. :/ #disappointed

  • Wow…obviously I know nothing about Swedish schools but this seems WAY out of line to not report to parents!
Nothing happened to the stabber I bet. Never does.

  • branni

This pisses me off. Small incident? So I suppose if they used a different knife; then it would be considered worse? What has this world come to and out of all countries; Europe…a country that is supposed to be more accepting of gays than America is…obviously not so

  • and his parents need to be investigated too, wtf is going on in that house??

  • Richard

For what? Letting their son wear nail polish? Children are genderless until society tells them otherwise. Let the boy wear nail polish if he wants.

  • I think she meant to have the boy who attacked Oskar. Not Oskar himself.

  • While it’s true that this sort of thing happens in the US…it’s not happening that often to little kids in kindergarten, otherwise we’d be hearing a lot more about it, since I’m pretty sure parents in the US would be suing the hell out of the schools.

  • Hmmm, what was the school thinking ? They WEREN’T! The kid who stabbed that poor little boy needs HELP, and fast, he should be as far away from that little boy as possible !

  • Ted

    Europe is a…continent…never mind.

Absolutely shocking. What kind of school doesn’t notify the parents of a STABBING? What kind of kids and teachers attend/work there? My son’s favorite color is pink and he enjoys having his nails painted and playing with dolls. I hope that nothing like this occurs wherever life may take him during his school-age years and beyond.

  • if i get charged for stabbing a kid so should the little kid the government and principle is fucked.
