Rick Santorum: Gays Shouldn’t Be Given ‘Privileges’ Like Marriage

gay blog, gay news, dadt, don't ask don't tell, reinstate, unicorn booty
Jerk.

We’re not sure how he does it, but Rick “frothy mixture” Santorum manages to put all of the feet in any room in his mouth every time he speaks.

Watch as Santorum pulls the “Don’t call them gays” card as he tries to negate homosexuals’ claims to equal rights – like marriage equality and government benefits – by calling them “privileges” instead.

What a cunning linguist he is!

“My feeling is that the relationship that should be recognized in public policy that provide exceptional benefit – unusual, unique benefits to society – is marriage. Marriage between a man and a woman who are there to join together for the purpose of continuing society – which is having children and raising those children in a home with a mom and a dad.”

Yeah, except that’s not what marriage is at all, jerk. Children have everything to do with parenthood, but zero to do with marriage. Continuing society has zero to do with marriage. In fact, you just made that up.

The worst past though is the smirk on his face while he lies his pants off.

What do you think of Santorum’s latest frothy discharge?

Great. I can add this to the list of things that have my head on the verge of exploding today. Dear Mr. Santorum, would it be a ‘privilege’ or a ‘right’ for me to enjoy watching you publicly exposed for the small-minded, ignorant, judgemental hypocrite that you are and then tarred and feathered?

And as far as not having a claim to “marriage equality or government benefits,” if you look at the Federal Tax Code, you’ll see that even though the Federal government doesn’t recognize same-sex partnerships and marriages with rights and legal protections, they DO recognize them as a souce of tax revenue. Hmm, I seem to remember something from my American History classes about “taxation without representation” being UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I think it’s time to start The Cocktail Party and begin putting the screws to politicians until that injustice is fixed.

  • Oh my God!!! We have truly found the dumbest person in America!!! His name is Rick Santorum! Wow!

Santorum is the architect of his own obsolescence. Many conservatives have begun to recognize that the tide is turning, and oppressing gays is winning fewer and fewer votes these days. Santorum doesn’t have much of a platform to stand on once you take away his marginalization of anything that can’t make a baby. (Sorry sterile couples. You don’t deserve marriage either. Unless you adopt. (But God FORBID that queers should be allowed to do so.)) To hear this is frustrating, and of course I would love to eviscerate him with my own rhetoric, but I recommend that everyone just heave a deep, collective sigh and recognize that his guy lost his seat—is now but a talking head with hollow aspirations along with so many other conservative pundits—and is increasingly seen as a fringe tool by even his own base. His relevance has already waned, and now I think that the people he flusters most are other conservatives who wish to distance themselves from his bigotry. Lalala.

He’s arguing for “special rights” for heterosexuals. The same argument they used against us a in the 1990s No special rights!
