We Need This App Making NSFW Nudes Slightly Safer for Work

Now you have a way to send your nude selfies ensuring they are slightly safe for work. Just download the app TrickPics — it’s like a Snapchat filter, utilizing augmented reality technology to cover your private parts.

Unlike Snapchat, which includes the ability to filter and send photos within the same service, TrickPics is designed as a separate tool, allowing users to save the pictures and share them as they wish.

The free app is credited to developer “ENJOYIT360 SL,” but it’s being promoted by Pornhub. “Introducing TrickPics, the newest way to transform your boring old photos into something special!” the listing reads. “Our app uses augmented reality filters to add a dash of fun to your images. With more than 15 filters to choose from, there’s no end to the possibilities!”

How does it work? You can apply different filters to your photos. We’ve included an example from a previous piece about Jamie Dornan:

Unfortunately, the interface isn’t very intuitive. If you want to “trick” an existing pic, the photo roll isn’t very responsive — and, at least on iOS, this reporter had to click back and forth between the non-existent “video” function to even get it to load. Even then, it was a crapshoot as to whether or not the image would even load at all.

From there, we’re locked into an Instagram-style square pic — hence the odd cropping on the Jamie Dornan picture above. Finally, when you save the image, it saves it as a .MOV file, not a .GIF — and .MOV isn’t the most compatible format. (For this article, we had to convert to the friendlier MP4 format.)

That said, the stickers you get to put over your naughty bits are amusing enough — but since TrickPics is its own app rather than a SnapChat-style filter, sharing is a pain in the clamshell.

Sadly, as good as the idea is, we’re going to have to go with Dick Code to hide our junk… or, you know, just be out and proud! Free your mind, and your ass will follow!
