After the Flood, God made a covenant with Noah, his family, their descendants, and the living creatures on the Ark [never again to drown the world in a flood]…. The sign of this covenant was the rainbow….
Sadly, people ignore what God intended the rainbow to represent and proudly wave rainbow-colored flags in defiance of God’s command and design for marriage. Because of this, many Christians shy away from using the rainbow colors…. As Christians, we need to take the rainbow back and teach our young people its true meaning.
First of all, Mr. Ham, your little fundamentalist theme park accepted about $18 million in Kentucky taxpayer subsidies and you it refuses to hire non-Christian employees, which is government-funded discrimination, so quit with the moral outrage.
Second, you can’t take the rainbow back — it’s ours. Noah’s Ark had same-sex animal pairs on it because the world was flooding and Noah didn’t have time to double check each one’s gender; lots of gay and bisexual underwater creatures survived too. God’s rainbow served as Her gateway into the new queer world.
So the rainbow has always been queer, even before we stole it. So there.
