Jerk.

Rick “Frothy Byproduct of Anal Sex” Santorum pledges to reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell if elected president in this brief clip from Think Progress. Never mind the fact that there have been exactly zero soldiers tending their resignations from the armed forces in the aftermath of the discriminatory law’s repeal, or the fact that the majority of Americans now support a law that would legalize same-sex marriage.

No, no, don’t let any of that stop you from attempting to institute your own hateful bigotry as law.

Santorum is among a very select few politicians who purposefully cater to extremely homophobic voters, knowing full well that they stand against equality. Santorum, who doesn’t have a shot in hell at the presidency because of vitriol exactly like this, has stumbled from one political mud puddle to another over the past years.

He was voted out of office after comparing homosexuality to bestiality, and just last week the anti-gay candidate borrowed his campaign slogan from pro-union, gay poet Langston Hughes. When confronted about the offensive irony of his selection, he blamed it on his staffers.

Santorum

Santorum literally cannot restrain himself or steer his own political career in the right direction, or any direction at all. The only thing we’re concerned about from this man is his willingness to whip up his followers into a hateful frenzy.

Repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell? Good luck with that, fool.

  • @ Original Poster:

Did you meanto use the word Reinstate in that last line, instead of Repeal? DODT has already been repealed.

    *Celebrate*

This moron wants to reinstate it. I would say best of luck to him… but no. He’s a hate monger, so no luck for him.

The Republican party has openly admitted that its traditional anti-gay bias is nothing more than an easy way to gain voter support. The conservative, religious voting base is still extremely large, and those within that demographic are slow to change. We still have a disturbing number of people who wouldn’t support a child of theirs marrying someone from another race or religion, and we had that battle out 50 years ago. It may not be a majority any longer, but the more ignorant someone is, the louder they get. Just look at Rev. Phelps. We all know this guy is a douche, and unfortunately for him, as the conservative baby-boomer generation is gradually being pushed out by the much more progressive and open minded Gen X and Gen Y, things will only get harder for those in power who cling to outdated mindsets.
